AI Engineer

ALX Africa is recruiting an AI engineer for Project A, the AI layer of its learning platform. The role is focused on turning working prototypes into reliable learner-facing products, including onboarding tools, project guides, and agent workflows tied to competency-based learning.

This opening suits an engineer who can ship production LLM systems, improve context engineering, and keep multi-step agents dependable under real learner behavior.

• Strong production experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Evidence of shipping at least one real AI or LLM product and learning from failures in production.
• Practical experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph or similar tools.
• Strong testing discipline with evals, regression checks, and fast iteration loops.
• React, observability tooling, or edtech experience would be helpful.
