Learning Scientist

ALX Africa is hiring a learning scientist to shape the pedagogy behind Project A, its AI-guided learning platform. The role exists to make the platform's assumptions about feedback, scaffolding, experimentation, and learner support explicit and evidence-based.

This role is relevant for someone who can bridge learning science and product development, design rigorous experiments, and help engineers build AI tools that genuinely improve learner outcomes.

• Strong grounding in modern learning-science frameworks.
• Enough AI literacy to co-design LLM-powered products with engineers.
• Ability to design experiments, define hypotheses, and test learning claims honestly.
• Comfort translating pedagogical theory into product decisions.
• EdTech or African education-context experience would be valuable.
